Three Questions with Latoya Hicks

Here are three questions with lead actress, Latoya Hicks who is a Panamian from Brooklyn. She got her start in acting when she did a small scene in the movie, Movie and Violence. She built a solid relationship with the director Ameir White after he asked her to do some skits for him. Her work can be seen in the Threat music video and indie films, Blood on the Streets 3 and Bestfrienemes.

  1. What attracted you to the character of Nakia?I love the fact that she didn’t put her boyfriend down when trying to support him. She tried to uplift him and give him other ideas on how to venture a new life.
  2. Your character Nakia slips out with Malcolm then gets mad with Keyshawn for stepping out with another female. Is that right? No, I don’t think that was right at all. I believe she was just tired of hearing no from Keyshawn to her suggestions. Mind you she is young so when Malcolm was flashing his money she was wrong for stepping out with him! She should of continuing to respect Keyshawn’s decisions at the moment.

  3. Why would you tell young women you know to check Love Don’t Last Forever?

I would ask young women to check out Love Don’t Last Forever because it tells an important story. Everyone is going through a lot of things in their lives. But, one thing to remember is: being in a relationship requires support from both parties. Communication is key. Be mindful: it is not cool to bring people down because of what they choose to do for a living. Don’t do what you don’t want done to you! Respect a person’s hustle no matter what you have in mind. Just do you.
