There is a new documentary grant for our documentary filmmakers. The Southern Documentary Fund has grants available with upcoming June deadlines.

The SDF Research and Development Grant details:
- Applicants must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
- Each grant awarded will be $5,000.
- Applications deadline June 15th, 2018.
The SDF Research and Development Grant is looking for:
- Well-written and well-researched proposals.
- Team leadership must reflect the communities whose story is being told. (“Nothing Without Us About Us!”)
- Projects in the research and development stage.
- Strong work samples (for films in production or post-production).
- Feasibility of the project (budget, financing, schedule, and scope).
- Confirmed access to subjects and story.
- Originality of form, approach, or content.
- Potential to generate public discourse.
